Smoke coming from building Broad Ave

Wednesday, April 20, 2011  Dispatched on a report of smoke coming from a building. Upon arrival the smoke was coming from an apartment where an investigation revealed the occupant burning wood.  Upon further investigation items of a suspicious nature were found. These items prompted an evacuation of the building and a request to the Bergen County PD Bomb Squad to respond. after the Bomb Squad cleared the apartment, the scene was turned over to Leonia Police for further investigation. Companies stood by until the scene was declared safe by BCPD.
